OPI Eiffle for this Color

on Saturday, January 15, 2011

This is one of my all time go to polish when I'm feeling like using a dark color. I've had this polish for over a year so the formula was thicker than usual. It was just so thick that the color would stay in one spot and didn't spread out (can anyone relate to this?), so I needed 3 coats for this color. I usually can get away with 2 coats, but not this time :(. I need to go buy some thinner!

But anyway, this color is almost black indoors and purple in bright sunlight. You can barely notice the shimmers unless you really stare at it very closely. It's very subtle, just how i like it! :)

Color Club Almond Nude and China Glaze 77004 IV

Color Club Almond Nude
 China Glaze IV
Can we talk about how gorgeous this color is?! I am in LOVE with this color. The application was a hassle, no doubt. It took 3 coats to cover up all the brush strokes and blotchy areas, some even 4 coats! But that can be ignored due to how well this color turned out.

This is also my first bottle of Color Club. I've always thought this was a cheap brand but I am soo glad I made the purchase!

Edit:
I guess I really liked this color the day I went to get polishes because I got the same shade in two brands! lol Look how amazingly similar these two colors are! I would say that the China Glaze has more of a pink tone to it as opposed to the Color Club, which is more peachy. I do like both colors nonetheless. The funny thing is, they both apply the exact same, I had to paint 4 coats on a couple of nails for the CG as well.

OPI Chocolate Moose

Look how awesome this color turned out! I'm sooo satisfied with this color, the application, everything. It took 3 coats to get this color but formula was thin and I didn't feel like I was piling the polish on. And it was really easy to keep the color on my nails instead of all over my cuticles. I only had a couple smudges and that was it :)

Orly Gum Drop

I've had this color for a while and I've only ever wore it once. I was hoping for more of a turquoise color, this turned out to be too baby blue for me. But I decided to wear it again and nope, I still don't like it that much. I don't think it helped that I'm more of a neutral gal :P

Anywho, I used two coats for this polish. This one was kind of thick like the ChG Modern Elegance but it was definitely opaque with the first coat, I just had to do another one to correct some of my mistakes. Plus, I always feel like I need at least two coats for any color for some reason lol

China Glaze Modern Elegance

Sorry for the messy application but I love this nude color! I have to say, it looks an awful lot like OPI Bare It In Trafalgar Square (which I didn't realize was discontinued). I must do a swatch of that for comparison soon. The OPI nude has been my favorite go to color for quite a long time, I even have two bottles of it!

From the silver cap, I think this was from the holiday collection? I'm not quite sure but I used two coats for this color and the application was great except that it was a bit thick.

Sation 73 Sweet Taro

Just got this color for one dollar today! This is my first bottle of Sation nail polish. I rarely ever try anything outside of OPI, China Glaze, Zoya or Essie. The color really caught my eye so i decided to give it a try.

I must say that I do like this color, despite the fact that it took forever to dry. I had to repaint a nail twice because I kept accidentally smudging it. Besides that, the application was nice, it took 3 coats to get it opaque.

OPI Pistol Packin' Pink

Man I've been changing my polish so often recently! I think it's my lack of things to do since I'm on break from school :)

This is more like a peach color than the name suggests. I really like how neutral it is, and it has some shimmers in it to make this color a little more exciting. This color photos really matte even with a topcoat, I have no idea why that is. But it's definitely much more shiny in person than the picture makes it seem!

I definitely had to do multiple coats for this one. It streaked really easily so I had to go back and fill in, I think it took about 3 coats, some 4. It did take a while to dry, even with a fast drying topcoat. The application was not fun but the end result was worth it!

OPI Can You Dig It?

This is one of my favorite purples! It's not too bright, not too dark, justtt the right amount of purple for me :)
